Privacy Policy for CoolHead

CoolHead (“we”, “our”, “the app”) provides wellness support and trigger-regulation guidance. CoolHead is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment.

1. Data We Access

Health and Motion Data (Apple HealthKit, Apple Watch, Motion)

If you grant permission, the app may access:

• Heart rate
• Workout session context used to enable live heart-rate collection on Apple Watch
• Motion and step data used for activity context and activity gating

User-Provided Content

If you use Relationship Reminders, the app stores:

• Text captions you enter
• Photos you select

Onboarding Answers

If you complete onboarding questions, your selected answers may be stored on-device to personalize your in-app experience.

Subscription Status

For subscriptions, the app uses RevenueCat and Apple in-app purchase systems to check entitlement status. We do not collect your card or payment credentials directly.

Support Form (Optional)

If you open Help & Feedback, a support form is loaded from Tally (tally.so).

Anonymous Usage Analytics

We use Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage analytics such as which features are used, session activity, subscription events, and general onboarding preferences (for example, which category of trigger context or desired outcome you selected — but not free-text input). This data does not include health information, personal identifiers, or any data that can be used to identify you. No HealthKit data is sent to Mixpanel or any analytics service.

2. How We Use Data

We use data to:

• Estimate trigger state in real time
• Show calming tools and guidance
• Display and sync live status between paired Apple Watch and iPhone
• Manage subscription entitlement status
• Improve the app through anonymous usage analytics

We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Storage and Sharing

• Relationship reminder text and photos are stored locally on your device.
• Relationship reminder files are written with iOS file protection.
• Trigger-detection physiological signals (such as heart-rate signals used by the app) are processed on-device.
• Physiological data used for trigger analysis is not sent to external servers by the app.
• Live status signals are exchanged between paired watch and phone using Apple WatchConnectivity.
• Anonymous usage analytics are sent to Mixpanel. This data cannot identify you and does not include health information.
• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not share HealthKit data with third parties for marketing or analytics.

4. Health and Safety Notice

CoolHead is intended for general wellness support only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. If you feel unwell or have concerning symptoms, contact a qualified healthcare professional.

5. Permissions

You may deny or revoke permissions at any time in iOS/watchOS settings:

• Health permissions (Health app / Settings)
• Motion & Fitness
• Notifications
• Photos access (if using reminder photos)

Some features may not work without required permissions.

6. Children

CoolHead is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.

7. Data Retention

Reminder content you add remains on your device until you edit/delete it or uninstall the app. Onboarding answers remain on-device until app data is reset or removed.

8. International Users

If you use the app outside your home country, core trigger processing remains primarily on-device.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates the latest version.
